Arrival in Kathmandu Kathmandu – 1,300 m / 4,265 ft
Accommodation: Hotel Meals: Not Included Overnight: Kathmandu Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall at Tribhuvan International Airport. The drive to the hotel is your first taste of the city: motorbikes weaving through traffic, the smell of incense and diesel, temples wedged between apartment blocks. Kathmandu moves fast even at low altitude. Check in, shower, rest if you need it. At 5 pm, your lead guide joins you for the pre-trek briefing. This is not just a formality; it is where we go through the acclimatisation plan behind the itinerary, what Lungden will actually feel like after eleven days on the trail, and how to spot the early signs of altitude sickness before they become a problem. That evening, join us for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant near the hotel. Dal bhat, the Nepali staple you will be eating a lot of, is a good first practice run. Sleep well. Tomorrow is an early start.
